XM/XP Upgrade Readiness Assessment package

Unless otherwise defined in this document, all capitalized terms used in this document shall have the same meaning as that given in the Order for Services (“Order”) between the Sitecore entity (“Sitecore”) and the customer (“Customer”) signing such Order.

1. Scope

Sitecore offers its XM/XP Upgrade Readiness Assessment Package (“Package”) of up to 80 hours of Consulting Services to prepare Customer for an upgrade to later versions of XM/XP, including sharing recommended approaches, and identifying areas to focus on from the existing implementation and infrastructure. The Package includes the following elements as standard, but the exact scope of the Services will be agreed by the parties and may be adjusted during the performance of the Services per Customer’s needs, subject to agreement between the parties. It consists of 3 parts:

1. Kickoff

During the Kickoff meeting, the Sitecore consultant and customer will discuss the customer’s current pain points (if any) and the customer’s requirements that need to be considered in the upgrade. This includes but is not limited to the inclusion of additional websites, integrations with other systems and traffic volumes. Prior to the Kickoff meeting, Sitecore will share a list of prerequisite tasks that the customer must complete and questions that the customer must answer to be used in the Kickoff meeting.

2. Upgrade Readiness Review

In this review, Sitecore will assess the servers associated with the Sitecore implementation and how the architecture may need to change for compatibility with the new XM/XP version being implemented. Sitecore will also provide recommendations on the changes to the existing Sitecore solution and Sitecore architecture to make the upgrade to the new XM/XP version easier. Sitecore will provide recommended practices guidance on the following topics:

  • Infrastructure Architecture
  • Sitecore Architecture and Configuration
  • Performance
  • Sitecore Solution details
  • Deployment setup

Sitecore will provide one or more migration paths for the customer to choose from, including but not limited to:

  • Infrastructure Changes Required
  • Module compatibility
  • API deprecation
  • Sitecore Configuration changes required

3. Presentation of findings meeting

During this meeting, Sitecore will present the findings of the Review, focusing on:

  • Overarching summary of our findings
  • Upgrade Path options and considerations
  • The most important findings and recommendations

After the meeting, Sitecore will share a report of the Migration Readiness Review conducted.

Note that Sitecore cannot provide effort estimations of an upgrade as part of this engagement. The customer and their implementation partner (if the customer has an implementation partner) are responsible for estimating the effort required.

2. General

The Services will be acquired as a pre-paid pool of hours, where the maximum number of hours to be used in a day corresponds to the length of the workday of each individual Sitecore resource engaged as part of this package unless otherwise agreed between the parties. The hours consumed will be counted in time increments of 60 minutes.

The Services will be performed based on a delivery schedule agreed upon between the parties after the Order is signed. Changes to the scheduling of activities must be requested no less than two weeks prior to the first day of the scheduled performance of the activity.

The Services must be consumed within 12 months of the Effective Date (the “Expiry Date”), after which any remaining unused Services will otherwise expire. Sitecore is under no obligation to deliver any unused pre-paid Services after the Expiry Date and any outstanding fees or applicable expenses will remain payable.

The fees for the Services do not include any travel, accommodation and subsistence expenses for onsite visits. Any such visits and associated travel budgets will need to be agreed upon between the Customer and Sitecore for each trip. Sitecore will book economy flight tickets and cheapest option for appropriate 4-star business class hotel. Sitecore will invoice the Customer each month for travel expenses incurred during the preceding month for agreed and approved onsite visits at the Customer’s locations. The remainder of the Services will be performed remotely.

Any code produced by Sitecore while delivering the Services will be exclusively for reference and guidance and Sitecore retains sole and exclusive ownership of the code. Customer should perform, and is solely responsible for, proper testing in its environment when using any of the work delivered by Sitecore.
